The Shamrocks took their ninth win of the season with a dominant win over the Burnaby Lakers, 23-5. The King brothers stood atop of the stats with a combined 21 points on the night.

The Rocks quickly jumped out to a three-goal lead as Jacob Ruest, Rhys Duch, and Jesse King added to the scoreboard. Burnaby then went on a short run of their own, making it a one-goal game. Jesse King had the answer right back as he put up three in a row lengthening their lead to 6-2.

The Shamrocks went on quite the scoring spell in the second period, with none other than Jesse King starting things off with a backhanded goal, putting Victoria up 7-2. Marshal King followed suit quickly after, and Jesse went behind the back again for his sixth. The Shamrocks continued on a run, scoring four in a row putting the Rocks up by 11. Burnaby was able to add two more quick ones at the end of the second, but the Shamrocks’ nine goals kept them up 15-5 going into the final frame.

Tempers were heating up on the floor, but the Rocks chose to keep their sticks on fire as Liam Phillips and Nick Preston added goals of their own. It was all Rocks in the third, as they scored eight straight to finish the night off. In an absolutely dominant win, the Rocks progress to 9-3 on the season, with twelve players finishing with multiple points.

The Shamrocks are back in action next Friday as they take on the Coquitlam Adanacs at 6:45 pm for a special Stronger Together night. In partnership with Vic and Saanich PD, we are putting on a game that will honour police and raise money for “Stronger Together” for the injured officers in the Saanich armed robbery on June 28th.
