The Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex, home to the Coquitlam Adanacs, wasn’t friendly territory for the Nanaimo Timbermen this season – the Adanacs winning both home games.
But that might have changed. Last night, the Nanaimo Timbermen played Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Adanacs in Coquitlam and came home with a 9-6 win. The Timbermen looked solid in all aspects of their game and should be feeling confident about their ability to win either at home or on the road.
Jon Phillips scored a hat trick and added a couple assists, Taggart Clark contributed with a goal and three assists, Colton Lidstone scored one goal with a couple assists, and Adam Wiedemann added three assists. Coquitlam’s Clark Walter was the top Adanac with three goals and two assists.
Next game is Monday, August 8, 7:00pm at the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo.
