The Victoria Royals have traded defenceman Wyatt Wilson to the Winnipeg ICE in exchange for conditional fourth round picks in 2023 and 2026.

The Swift Current, SK product had spent the past two seasons with the Royals after being signed by the club in the summer of 2021. Wilson appeared in 59 games during his time in Victoria, recording 13 total points on three goals and 10 assists.

Wilson has not appeared in a game for the Royals since being injured against the Kelowna Rockets on Oct. 11. His timeline for return from injury remains to be determined.

He was originally a draft pick of the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the sixth round of the 2018 WHL Prospects draft. However, he would never appear in a game for Lethbridge, being traded first to the Swift Current Broncos in 2019 before the Royals acquired his rights the following season.

Prior to the start of his junior career, Wilson played for the Moose Jaw Warriors U18 AAA of the SMAAAHL and Yale Hockey Academy U15 and U18 Prep teams in Abbotsford, BC.
