Canada qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023 after a 3-0 win over Puerto Rico at the Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship. Kyler Vojvodic, Antoine N’Diaye and captain Lazar Stefanovic were the goalscorers while goalkeeper Nathaniel Abraham and his backline posted the clean sheet.
“What an accomplishment for the boys and the program,” said Andrew Olivieri, Canada Soccer’s Men’s U-17 Coach. “They haven’t been together long, but they’ve committed fully over this time together to push themselves to new levels. I’m so grateful we get to continue down this path together.”
Canada’s matches are broadcast live on OneSoccer, available as a linear channel on Telus’s Optik TV (Channel 980) as well as online at OneSoccer.ca, through the OneSoccer app and on the fuboTV Canada platform.
“The opportunity to face world-class opponents, like the ones we will face at Peru 2023 as well as our next opponent USA in the Concacaf Semi-Finals, will help these boys drive their careers forward. We are so happy for them and the staff.”
Canada will face USA in the Concacaf Semi-Finals on Friday 24 February at 19.00 local (20.00 ET / 17.00 PT). From there, the winner will play in Sunday’s Concacaf Final against the winner of the other Semi-Finals match, Mexico v Panama/Honduras.
