March 25, 2023 Langford, BC (ISN) – The Vancouver Island Soccer League held their 2023 rendition of the Jackson Cup Saturday, March 25th, at Starlight Stadium in Langford, BC as Vic West and Lakehill Men’s sides went head to head.
In a back and forth early contest, Lakehill would start to dominate, taking ball possession early, however it would be Vic West to ripple the twine first. Lakehill would knot the score to take it to the half 1-1. After Vic West would go up late 2-1 feeling comfortable with the Cup win, Lakehill would score off a corner kick and a loose ball to beat an otherwise solid Vic West net minding performance to send it to penalty kicks.
Vic West would prove the better in penalty kicks to claim their first Jackson Cup in 34 years.
