Victoria Artistic Swimming Club welcomes the community to attend their annual year end Watershow, happening Sunday, June 18th at Saanich Commonwealth Place, 9:30-11:00am.
This is an opportunity to see the sport previously known as synchronized swimming, as Victoria’s only artistic swimming club showcases club athletes, from youngest and newest-to-the-sport to their most experienced athletes, who this year attended Nationals in May in Calgary.
Admission is by donation.
The club’s Junior athletes have faced facility closures, training disruptions, injuries, and
learning brand new technical elements, all while navigating World Aquatics’ new judging and scoring system roll out. Through it all their resilience and determination paid off: they came together to swim their strongest performance of the year at the Canadian National Championships last month. This group has emerged as positive role models who embody leadership, excellence and ambassadorship for their club and province on the national stage.
The club’s Provincial Stream athletes dominated the podium both at Mabel Moran Provincial Qualifiers this year and at recent Jean Peters Provincials! The club’s 13-15 years Provincial Stream team delivered gold medal performances, and many personal bests were achieved by the entire Provincial Stream athlete group. Victoria Artistic Swimming’s provincial athletes have put their hearts into developing resilience and a true sport commitment to their performance.
This is a small club, dedicated to offering all athletes interested in the sport the chance
to learn, grow and achieve their own personal best. Summer camps being offered in
August are a great chance for kids to try out the sport, and a full slate of Fall programs
will soon be available online for information and registration at www.victoriasynchro.com.
For a fun Sunday morning outing and an opportunity to see the unique combination of strength, power, teamwork, flexibility and performance that makes these athletes amazing, the club welcomes you to take in the show on June 18!
