The Saanich Lacrosse Association (SLA) is beaming with pride as they applaud the exceptional achievements of their U13 lacrosse teams. The U13-A2, U13-B, and U13-C teams recently claimed the coveted title of island champions in their respective divisions, showcasing their remarkable skills and dedication.

The U13-A2 team left spectators in awe with their extraordinary performance and unwavering commitment throughout the season. Their exceptional efforts culminated in well-deserved titles as both the regular season and island playoff champions. Notable players, including captains Nixon Bradley, Brooks Bourassa, Paxton Anderson, and goaltender Lucas Byers, played pivotal roles in the team’s resounding success.

Adding to their accolades, the A2 team secured a gold medal at the Juan de Fuca Rumble on the Rock tournament. Their outstanding performance included a triumph over the undefeated New Westminster Salmonbellies team in the gold medal game, further cementing their prowess on the lacrosse floor.

The U13-B team also had a triumphant season, boasting an impressive record of 9 wins and only 1 loss. Their exceptional efforts led them to clinch titles as both the regular season and island playoff champions. Notable players, including Ashley Amell as captain, along with assistant captains Colton Preston and Declan McFarlane, contributed significantly to the team’s success. Despite facing rejections from various tournaments, the B team persevered, making their opportunity to attend the provincial championships all the more meaningful for these resilient young athletes.

The U13-C team exhibited unwavering determination by participating in the B division during the regular season. Despite half of the team being new to lacrosse, they wholeheartedly embraced the sport and committed themselves to continuous improvement. Overcoming the setback of losing their sole goalkeeper, the team’s hard work and resilience ultimately paid off as they emerged victorious in their category, clinching the season championship and proudly bringing the Island Banner home for the Saanich Tigers. Captain Emerson Robbins and Assistant Captains Tate Davis, Owen Gudavicius, and Juliet Majorki provided invaluable leadership both on and off the floor, fostering a cohesive and supportive team environment.

The Saanich Lacrosse Association proudly acknowledges and commends the remarkable accomplishments of their U13 teams in the ongoing lacrosse season. The outstanding achievements of the U13-A2, B, and C teams stand as a testament to their unwavering dedication, perseverance, and the tremendous support from the coaching staff, volunteers, and families. As they prepare for the upcoming provincial championships, the SLA extends their best wishes to these talented teams on their quest for success.

The parents, coaches, managers, and devoted fans of the Saanich Lacrosse Association wholeheartedly applaud the achievements of these dedicated athletes. They recognize the countless hours of training, practice, and teamwork that have contributed to their well-deserved triumphs.

With the BC Lacrosse Provincial Championships just around the corner, the entire Saanich Lacrosse Association and the local community eagerly rally behind the U13-A2, B, and C teams, ready to cheer them on every step of the way. The SLA and its supporters eagerly anticipate an exciting weekend in Ridge Meadows, where these exceptional young athletes will showcase their skills and determination on a provincial stage.
