The Victoria Royals (0-3-0-0) played host to the Prince George Cougars (2-1-0-0) on Friday evening. It was the first game of the season at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre as Victoria had started the season with a two game road trip.
It was the first of eight meetings of the season between Victoria and Prince George.
Braden Holt got his second consecutive start for the Royals while he faced off against Ty Young of the Cougars.
Prince George got the scoring started early in the first as their special teams went to work as Parascak scored on a short-handed chance as well as powerplay opportunity. The Cougars would add two more in the opening frame before Tanner Scott would get the Royals on the board with a sharp angled shot late in the first.
The Cougars capitalized on three more occasions in the middle frame to boost them to a six goal advantage before grabbing four more in the final period.
Nate Misskey would grab one for the Royals before the night ended as he extended his point streak to three games to start the season.
