Offensive Player of the Week: Silas Fagnan

Silas Fagnan gave a commendable showing in StFX’s 42-9 victory over the Axemen on Saturday at the STFX Stadium. The X-Men quarterback completed 17 of 23 attempts for 350 yards, with his longest at 54 yards, in addition to three touchdowns. He also made 4 rush attempts for 22 yards, including his longest rush at 11 yards. Not only did Fagnan allow his team to remain undefeated, and sitting at No. 5 nationallybut he also leads the AUS in pass completions and attempts (101-169), yards (1422) and pass efficiency (143.3).

Josh Connors was a defensive standout in STFX’s 42-9 victory over the Axemen on Saturday afternoon at STFX Stadium. The X-Men linebacker recorded a game-high of eight tackles (six solo and four assisted) along with two tackles for loss and a sack. His performance helped prevent Acadia from closing the gap as the X-Men held them out of the end zone completely. Connors tops the AUS leader board for tackles, averaging seven tackles per game.

Guillaume Cauchon acted as an absolute game-changer in Laval’s 23-7 victory against the Concordia Stingers in Quebec City. With 5:16 left in the second, the rookie returner successfully returned a 110-yard missed field goal (MFG) for a touchdown. His long runback tied the game at 7-7, shifting the momentum, and setting the Rouge et Or up to dominate the remainder of the game. Cauchon’s runback was fifth longest returned missed field goal in RSEQ/OQIFC history. He finished the game with five combined punt and missed field goal returns for 139 yards.
