The Oak Bay Bays, Vancouver College Fighting Irish, St. Patrick Celtics and Terry Fox Ravens were all winners on Sunday during the quarter-final round at the Junior Boys
Basketball Invitational Tournament at Langley Events Centre.

The 32-team tournament is being co-hosted by Brookswood Secondary and R.E. Mountain Secondary. Oak Bay, Vancouver College and St. Patrick were the tournament’s top three seeds while the Ravens checked in at No. 5. Vancouver College and St. Patrick will tip off in the first semi-final on Monday (Feb. 26) at 6:30pm and that will be followed by the Bays and the Ravens at 8:00pm with both games on South Court at Langley Events Centre.

Day 2 Recap

Oak Bay – the tournament’s top seed – was a 55-43 winner over the No. 8 Collingwood Cavaliers. It was an eight-point game in the fourth quarter before the Bays iced it from the free throw line as they hit 10 of 12 free throws in the final period.

Olin Lakos proved unstoppable in the game as he poured in 27 points – 20 of which
came in the first half – while Marcus Kao scored nine in the fourth quarter and finished
with 16 for the game. The Cavaliers’ Peter Huang had 15 and Harry Bell chipped in with a dozen points.
