It took extra-time & penalties to separate the Spectrum Thunder from the Reynolds Roadrunners at the AAA Island Championship Final in Nanaimo on Tuesday.
Despite being down 2-0 from two second-half Reynolds goals, Spectrum came back with key goals from Co-Captain Clara Chudley & a beautiful late and last minute goal from Janeina Monge to push the tie to extra-time.
In penalties, a key save from goalkeeper Callie Turpin & the winning penalty from Brooklyn Robinson secured the title for the Spectrum Thunder; their first in the school’s history.
Both Spectrum and Reynolds will advance to the provincials May 29th-June 1st in Surrey.
