ISN fans meet Hailee Oczkowski,Hailee is a 7 year old girl who’s in grade 2 at Alex Aitken school in Duncan BC.Hailee also loves sports,I mean, Hailee LOVES Sports! She also does dance (tap, jazz and hip hop) and skating but baseball is her jam.Problem is,in order to play her beloved sport,she has to play on a ALL boy’s team in the Duncan junior baseball association called the Dodgers.Did I say Problem? Actually,NO problem at all. You see this little spark plug has some stuff that just can’t be taught,you either have it or you don’t. A natural, a gift, special are what it’s often referred to as.
When I was asked to watch her final game of the season for a potential story I was immediately blown away with her entire demeanour,swag and laser focus at bat and in the field.Hits the ball a ton,wants to catch any and every ball hit no matter where it is ,never taking her eye’s off the ball not even for a second. Surrounded by cheering family and teammates she casually goes about the business at hand without even cracking a smile,I mean this kid is all business.
When asked to her parents what drives her,they’re like (chuckle) it’s just our little Hailee,it’s who she is!
I’m not sure what the future holds for this young lady but i’m absolutely convinced no matter what it is,she’s going to be a star at it. You Go Girl,You Go !!
