England Edges Out Canada in WXV 1 Women’s Rugby Final

In a thrilling WXV 1 final at B.C. Place in Vancouver, England’s Red Roses secured a hard-fought 21-12 victory over Canada. Justine Pelletier opened the scoring for Canada, but England quickly responded with tries from Maud Muir and Sarah Bern. Helena Rowland’s conversions and a late try from Player of the Match, Zoe Aldcroft, who sealed the win for England. Despite strong efforts by Canada, including a try and conversion by captain Alex Tessier, England’s resilient defence ensured their victory. This match highlighted the intense competition and skill on both sides, providing an exciting end to the WXV 1 tournament.
