November 1, 2024. Victoria, BC (ISN) – In the team’s only regular season matchup against the defending WHL champions, the Victoria Royals fell to the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-2 tonight at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. 

Victoria opened the scoring at 5:47 of the first period with a goal from Teydon Trembecky, assisted by Brayden Boehm and Justin Kipkie. Reggie Newman extended the Royals’ lead with a power play goal at 13:36, assisted by Nate Misskey and former Warrior Cosmo Wilson. Victoria’s defence and special teams bested the Moose Jaw offence in the first period, holding the Warriors to eight shots and killing a penalty towards the end of the frame. 

Victoria continued to be strong defensively through the scoreless second period, once again holding the Warriors to only eight shots. The Royals special teams also pulled through to kill a 5-on-3 penalty just before the 15-minute mark of the second period.

The Royals will be back at the SOFMC this Sunday, November 3 for a 3:05 p.m. game against the Saskatoon Blades. The team continues its homestand with two games against the Kamloops Blazers this Tuesday and Wednesday, November 5 and 6. Puck drops for both games at 7:05 p.m.
