Another game and another stifling first-half of defence as the King George Dragons are
through to the final four. The Dragons nearly held the Byrne Creek Bulldogs to single digits in the first 20 minutes, leading 27-10 at the break. And that 17-point cushion was more than enough as the Bulldogs could not mount any sort of comeback, falling 50-36.
It was the second straight game where the King George defence set the tone as in
Wednesday’s opening round game, they allowed just 12 points through the first two
quarters.

King George was able to use their height advantage with Faissal Shawwa (6-5) scoring
19 and Charlie Comrie (6-8) adding eight. Kio Nickel chipped in nine. The Bulldogs’ Gabe Masangkay led his team with 14 while Chuku Mabeny added 13.

The quarter-final clash featured six ties and seven lead changes as neither team was able to ever build much of a cushion. The contest also featured a pair of dynamic scorers leading their respective clubs as the Ravens’ Chad Gammad scored 27 with Brookswood’s Logan Stewart countering at 26. Jayden Kenyon added 18 and Luke Laird chipped in 11 – including a trio of 3’s – for the
Bobcats. Oscar Kemseke finished with 12 points for the Ravens.

Harjap Thind delivered another big game, scoring 35 points – which included seven 3’s
– as the Rick Hansen Hurricanes held off the South Kamloops Titans 62-54. The Hurricanes never trailed in the contest and the game was only tied twice, both times in the first quarter. Larry Shyakagisa (14 points) and Jonathan Kaping-Thais (13 points) were the Titans’ top scorer.

Collingwood Cavaliers 92 Richmond Colts 67
