The Coyotes claim a huge weekend sweep at Capilano with a four point win on Saturday. They shot 43% from the field and were led by a triple-double from Christian Williams. He scored 17 points, grabbed 22 rebounds and tallied 10 assists. Curtis Wilson was also a force with a team high 19 points and 11 rebounds and Davide Ciancio chipped in with 14 points.

For the Blues they lose their second straight for just the second time this season. They attempted 40-three pointers, but only connected on 11 of them, five of which from Michael Kelly as he finished with 19 points. Denver Sparks-Guest also finished with 19.

The Coyotes (7-11) will finish sixth in the standings and will face the Blues (10-7) in the PACWEST championship quarterfinal on Thursday February 28th at Douglas College. The Blues still have one game remaining this coming Thursday night.

VIU Mariners 90
Camosun Chargers 71

The Mariners jumped out to a 29-12 lead after the first quarter on Saturday and never really looked back. They shot 40% from the field and Landon Radliff caught fire from long range nailing six-three pointers and finished with a game high 33 points. Jerod Dorby played in his final regular season game and scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

The Chargers did shoot 43% from the field but it wasn’t enough. Ismail Abdulahi came off the bench and dropped 19 points on 9 of 14 shooting and Shaquille Maharaj added 10.

With a 16-2 record the Mariners clinch first place and will have a first round bye in the PACWEST championship playoff tournament which tips off on Thursday February 28th. The Chargers (8-10) finish as the fifth seed and will match up with the Langara Falcons (8-9) in a PACWEST quarterfinal.

CBC Bearcats 72

After outscoring the Bearcats 27-19 in the first quarter the Royals cruised to their 12th win of the season. They shot 53% from the field with each player on their roster scoring at least one basket. Courtney Anderson led his club with 18 points and Sylvester Appiah in his final regular season game tallied 16.

Trent Baker led the way for the Bearcats as he dropped a game high 23 points. Ykealo Araia knocked down 19 points and Gabe Mannes had 14.

The Royals (12-6) lockdown the second seed and will receive a first round bye at the PACWEST championship tournament. The Bearcats (0-16) still have two games remaining and will try to get into the win column for the first time this season.
