Falcon Gymnastics had a successful weekend on the mainland in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics at the Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational meet at the Langley Events Centre on February 16th and 17th.
This meet saw young female athletes from the Island club in Saanich competing in the Junior Olympic 3 to Junior Olympic 9 range with over 600 athletes attending the two day BC Gymnastics sanctioned meet.
Women’s Artistic Gymnastics squads from Falcon had an exceptional weekend bringing home over 7 All Around medals and 2 first place All Around podium finishes against large cohorts of athletes in each of their respective rotations.
Falcon athletes on the podium included; Karley Telford Gold AA JO7 Keira Leibel Gold AA JO6 Madison Nguyen Silver AA JO6 Sophia Bittencourt Bronze AA JO6 Giselle Rachert Silver AA JO6 Ella Kendler Bronze AA JO6 Jenna Webster Bronze AA JO5 This event was a qualifier for gymnasts age 9-14 in the Junior Olympic 4-6 Designation for the upcoming Compulsory and Artistic Provincial Championships in April.
The Falcon Senior Squads will be leaving for a team travel event to Eugene Oregon to compete in the Emerald Team Challenge Invitational March 1-3 with over 40 clubs participating from across the Pacific Northwest.
