Hampton Park Little League hosted their 7th Annual Victoria Day Classic this past weekend. Teams represented at the tournament were, 3 teams from Beacon Hill, 2 two teams from Layritz, 2 teams from Lakehill and 2 teams from Hampton Park.
Four teams advanced into Monday’s semifinal matches. Lakehill1had a perfect record of 4-0. While the other three teams advancing had one loss each. Those teams were Lakehill 2, Layritz 2 and Hampton Park 1.
The gold medal game saw Lakehill 1 going against Layritz 2. A close match with
Layritz 2 prevailing, in the end giving Lakehill 1 their only loss in the tournament.
The bronze medal match saw Lakehill 2 taking on Hampton 1. A very tightly contested match. The game was tied 6-6 after the sixth inning and forced the seventh inning. Lakehill 2 manage to get three runs and make it 9-6, but Hampton battled back getting the four runs they needed and defeat Lakehill 2, 10-9.
*This was Hampton’s first ever win int he seven years of hosting the tournament.
