City rivals, Layritz and Lakehill met Sunday in the final match of the District 7 Championship. The winner to advance to the 2019 9/10 BC Provincial Championship being held in Vancouver, July 13-21.
Layritz opened up the scoring in the bottom of the second bringing in two runs. The score stayed that way until the top of the fifth inning when Lakehill mounted a come back to make it 3-2.
In the bottom of the fifth inning Layritz regained the lead to make it 7-3.
Lakehill manged to score one more run in the sitxh inning to make it 7-4. Layritz wins with a perfect record of 7-0 for the tournamnet.
