The Victoria Shamrocks are fresh off a pair of key wins at the Q Centre this past weekend.

On Friday they defeated the New Westminster Salmonbellies 15-10 and then followed that up on Sunday with a 9-6 win over the 1st place Maple Ridge Burrards on Alumni Day. The club proudly welcomed back members of the 1999 and 1979 Mann Cup Championship squads.

With the wins, the surging Shamrocks have won 3 of their last 4 games, and have vaulted themselves back into contention in the WLA standings.

Victoria native Jesse King had a MONSTER weekend for the Shamrocks.  On Friday King posted 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points and on Sunday he picked up where he left off adding 2 goals and 2 assists.  Add it up and King was in on 13 of Shamrocks 24 goals this weekend!  King now leads the club in scoring with 19 points in 5 games.

The week ahead is a light one for the Shamrocks with just one game on the schedule.  On Friday the Shamrocks will welcome Christian Del Bianco and the Coquitlam Adanacs to the Q Centre on Friday Night at 7:00 pm.  The Game is presented by Island Savings and is the Annual “Fill the Cupboard” night.  Island Savings and the Shamrocks are asking fans to bring a non-perishable food item with them in support of the food bank.

Today, members of the club are excited to be hosting a free youth clinic at Eagle Ridge in support of the M’akola Housing Society Change Makers Gathering. It’s the launch of the 2019 Indigenous People’s Week.
