It was a good night if you’re a Burnaby Lakers fan as the Lakers took down the Langley Thunder by a score of 11-8 at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre Friday night. The Lakers now sit tied for first with the Maple Ridge Burrards with 18 points and three games left in the regular season. As for Langley, they are two points ahead of Coquitlam and sit 6th in the WLA standings.

Dylan Kinnear led the Thunder in points, getting five points with a goal and four assists. It was a season-high of points for Kinnear, who has now scored in the last nine Langley games. Coming off a hat trick Wednesday against the Victoria Shamrocks, Keegan Bell had a goal and an assist. In net, Steve Fryer made 50 saves for the first time since June 26th in an overtime loss to Nanaimo.

Burnaby had great offensive performances from Dane Stevens and Robert Church as they each had three goals and four assists. Dean Fairall has been a nice addition for the Lakers since being acquired at the Trade Deadline and tonight was no different as Fairall got four assists against the Thunder. Fairall has twelve points in four games since being acquired on July 1st. In net, Eric Penney made 35 saves in his first victory since June 28th.
