August 6th, 2019 Victoria, BC (ISN) – Last weekend six teams met head to head to kickoff the 2019 British Columbia Football League in game one of the season, all looking to make their mark in the win column and in the stats book.
The Langley Rams looked the most competent on paper and the score board as they come out on top of a 42-30 decision in a barn burning, offensive game over the VI Raiders. Rams QB Duncan Little would strike three times for TD’s to Kalik Johnson, and throw for a conference high 342 yards on a game high net offensive display of 347 yards.

Not to be outdone, the Okanagan Sun QB’s. Alex Douglas and Ethan Newman, sharing duties under centre would do one better than the Ram’s Little vs the Kamloops Broncos, in a 26-3 decision.
The Sun would amass a monstrous, even attack, putting up 532 yards net offence on an even offensive attack split between the team’s rushing and receiving core. If that doesn’t put other teams on notice …………. .
The Westshore Rebels survived their game one on the legs of rock carrier Zachary Lubin, running for 71 yards, and two td’s. With a healthy dose of 2nd quarter defence that saw the Rebels shut down the Husker offence twelve consecutive times in the last half of the game fuelled Westshore to a come from behind 14 point victory with only 5 minutes remaining in the game. Led by defensive lineman, Jesse Zajaros with 6 tackles, Malik Womack with 5 tackles and an interception, and Leonard Ingram with 6 tackles including 2.5 QB sacks, the Rebels would only allow the Huskers to play with sixty net yards offense in the 2nd half in the loss.
