The University of Victoria Vikes women’s soccer team presents the She Kick SoccerFest as a way to kickoff the stretch drive to the U SPORTS National Championship.

Next Tuesday evening (Oct. 29) all of the Vikes players and coaches will be running a clinic from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Finlayson Artificial Turf Soccer Field.

The Vikes will be instructing 150 girls from the U8 age group up to the U14 level. While the camp roster is currently full, there may be some waitlist spots available. For anyone interested, they are encouraged to sign their child up through the Lower Island Soccer Association website. The Vikes are thrilled to be running this event in conjunction with LISA. All players will receive a t-shirt donated by Team Sales Vancouver Island for their participation in the event.

While it is a free event for the kids, the Vikes are encouraging all the participating soccer players to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to a local food bank.

Player collector cards will be given out by the Vikes during the sessions that can later be used for draw prizes at national championship games.

This serves as a great photo opportunity for the local media. Following the camp, players and coaches will be made available to the media for questions about the She Kicks event or about the upcoming U SPORTS National Championship which run Nov. 7-10.

The top university soccer programs from across Canada will descend to Centennial Stadium for a chance to win the national banner. The Vikes will play their tournament-opening game on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. The rest of the schedule will be filled out once conference championships wrap up over the next few weeks.
