Earlier this morning, Canada West named Isaac Koch as the Player of the Year.

The fourth-year midfielder was the biggest scoring threat on the pitch this season, as he finished as the conference leader in points (17) and assists (8). He also was in a tie for second with nine goals.

He will now move forward as the Canada West nominee for the U SPORTS Player of the Year award, which will be handed out next week in Montreal.

It was a remarkable season for Koch, as he missed all of last season to recover from knee surgery.

The West Kelowna, B.C. product led the Vikes back to the playoffs for the first time in three years. He was also named a Canada West First Team All-Star last week.

Kock is the second Vike to receive the award and the first since Cam Hundal won the award in 2015. Hundal now serves as an assistant coach with the Vikes men’s soccer team.
