The Victoria Shamrocks suffered their first loss of the season to the Coquitlam Adanacs despite a late effort. Larson Sundown led the team in scoring with three goals, but the Adanacs goaltender kept the Shamrocks offense to a season low scoring game.
The first period was kept tight between the two teams, as only five goals were scored. The Adanacs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead until Jackson Nishimura got the Rocks on the board with a breakaway opportunity. Jake Foster picked up the second goal for the Rocks, cutting their deficit to 3-2 at the end of one.
The Adanacs struck first in the second period, but the Rocks then went on a two-goal run from Marshal King and Matt Yager to tie things up at four. The Adanacs went on a run of their own, scoring three in a row to regain a three-goal lead. Finally Larson Sundown buried one past Chrisitan Del Bianco, but the Rocks had an uphill battle to climb in the third.
The Rocks put the Adanacs on a power play right away in the third, allowing them to continue their lead to 8-5. The Shamrocks kept clawing back, as Sundown added a pair along with a late goal from Nick Preston, but the Adnanacs kept rolling. Coquitlam goaltender Del Bianco faced 65 shots and only allowed the Rocks to put eight away, giving the Rocks their first loss of the season 12-8.
