The Nanaimo Clippers are thrilled to announce that Captain Marcus Mitchell, a 20-year old forward has committed to attend University of Alaska Anchorage and suit up for the NCAA Division I Seawolves for the upcoming season.
Mitchell joined the Clippers this season after being traded from the Penticton Vees in the offseason where in total he has played in 189 BCHL Regular season games tallying 118 points, 53 goals and 65 assists.
“On behalf of the entire Clippers Organization, I would like to congratulate Marcus on earning a scholarship to play NCAA Hockey.” says Head Coach of the Clippers Darren Naylor “Marcus is a tremendous young man who competes everyday with a great work ethic.”

Marcus Mitchell will be joining former Nanaimo Clipper and Nanaimo product Corey Renwick who will be entering into his third year at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
