October 25, 2026  Victoria, BC -The Victoria Grizzlies put on a commanding performance at the Q Centre on Friday night from the Q Centre, defeating the Surrey Eagles 4-1 in a match that showcased the team’s depth and resilience.

The game kicked off slow with the two teams having not played each other this year and finding each other in a bit of a feeling out process. Finn Kallay opened the scoring late in the first period, setting the tone for the night. However, the Eagles responded quickly, equalizing before the period closed, leaving both teams tied at 1-1 going into the first intermission.

The second period saw the Grizzlies ramp up the intensity. Dan D’Alessandro found the back of the net early in the frame, giving Victoria a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish. Moments later, Drew Hockley extended the advantage to 3-1, for his already eighth of the year.

The final period saw a relentless Victoria squad bear down killing penalties and Ryan Watt capped off the night with a goal that sealed the Eagles’ fate at 4-1. The Grizzlies’ defense remained strong, preventing any further scoring from Surrey and maintaining their momentum as the clock wound down.

Victoria’s win improves them to 6-4-1 on the year as they get set to host the Langley Rivermen tomorrow night in a special game that will see someone’s mortgage or rent for the month of November paid.
