Nanaimo Buccaneers Secure Narrow Victory Over Oceanside Generals
The Nanaimo Buccaneers edged out the Oceanside Generals with a 1-0 victory in their recent VIJHL matchup. The game was a defensive battle, with the only goal coming from a Buccaneers forward in the second period. Despite several attempts, the Generals couldn’t find the back of the net, resulting in a hard-fought win for the Buccaneers.
Before the game, the Parksville Generals organization held a heartfelt tribute to former Head Coach Dan Lemon. The ceremony honoured his significant contributions to the team and the community, celebrating his legacy and the impact he had on players and fans alike.
Linden Hoskins scored the decisive goal at 13:05 in the first period, with assists from Brody Wood and Ken Stalder. The Buccaneers dominated offensively, amassing 51 shots on goal compared to Oceanside’s 34, ultimately securing a narrow 1-0 victory.
