BC Hockey announced the coaching staff for the Female Team BC that will compete at the National Women’s U18 Championship taking place in Morden and Winkler, Manitoba in November 2019.  Coaching staff for the team is:

Sommer is entering his sixth season with the University of British Columbia (UBC) women’s hockey team.  During this time, the team has captured two (2) Canada West championship titles and has made two (2) U SPORTS national appearances finishing with a silver and bronze medal.  He first joined the BC Hockey Female Program of Excellence (POE) in 2015 as video coach and has since moved into on-ice skill coach for the program.

Hogg has been the head coach of the Pursuit of Excellence Female Midget Prep team since 2016.  Prior to this role, he coached for several Minor Hockey Associations (MHA), spring teams and hockey camps.  Hogg has been a coach with the Female POE for the past three (3) years.

deBree spent last season coaching with the Vancouver Thunderbirds MHA and Vancouver Angels Female Hockey Association.  Amy has been a coach with the Female POE since 2011, was head coach of Team BC at the 2017 National Aboriginal Hockey Championship and an instructor at the UBC Hockey School.  She is currently completing her Master of Education in Coaching Studies at the University of Victoria.

BC Hockey’s Female POE was established to identify and train athletes and team personnel for possible participation at Provincial, National and International events.
