The Western Lacrosse Association has announced that Burnaby Lakers goalie Eric Penney has been named the WLA Goalie of the Week for the week ending July 1, 2019.
Penney had three starts this week for Lakers, going 2-1 in those starts. He had an 0.821 save percentage and made an incredible 115 saves in the three games. Penney has 7.26 goals against and a 0.846 save percentage while starting in all 11 games this season. Penney has arguably been the MVP for the Lakers this season as Burnaby sits atop in the league with 16 points.
