Atlantic University Sport announced today that the AUS Judicial Committee has allowed the appeal of the 10-game suspension issued earlier this season to Acadia Axemen hockey head coach Darren Burns, and will set aside the remaining five games yet to be served of the suspension.
Five games of this suspension were served in the 2018-19 season. The remaining five would have carried over to the 2019-20 season.
Acadia University opted to appeal the suspension and the matter was reviewed by the AUS Judicial Committee.
As a result of the decision of the AUS Judicial Committee, Coach Burns’ suspension is now considered to have been served. He will return to his regular coaching duties for the 2019-20 preseason and regular season.
All decisions of the Judicial Committee are final and may not be appealed.
