Victoria, BC. The Eves of Destruction Roller Derby League is gearing up for their 14th season! This will be a landmark season for Victoria’s local roller derby, with a continued push by their A-Team to put Vancouver Island on the international derby map.
The A-Team is traveling to Augusta, Georgia in May 2020 to participate in an international WFTDA-sanctioned tournament. This is the farthest afield any Victoria derby team has traveled, and the league is pulling together to support their travel team’s success at this tournament. The team has a fundraising goal of $30,000 CAD to make this tournament a reality; and that means asking for support from the community at large, in addition to league members.
If you would like to support the Eves of Destruction A-Team in their fundraising efforts, save up your cans and bottles! There will be a Bottle Drive at Archie Browning Arena (the Eves’ summer home) on Saturday, February 22, with all proceeds going towards their Georgia trip. Come down to the parking lot behind the arena between 9am and 2pm to drop off your bottles in support! Can’t deliver?
