Steven Agriogianis

Clippers 1999 born Steven Agriogianis is the 12th player on this year’s Nanaimo Clippers team to commit to an NCAA Division I School. He will be joining the Northeastern University Huskies for the 2020-2021 season. Agriogianis hails from Florham Park, New Jersey and joined the Clippers in October 2019 after playing 147 games in the USHL. He won the Clippers best forward award this season and has been an instrumental part of the team finishing first overall in the Island Division and third in the BCHL. After a slow start in the BCHL, Agriogianis has been dominating the league over the last two months, so it’s not a surprise to see him committed to an NCAA Division I high-end program.

Daren Naylor, Head Coach and Vice President commented, “The Clippers season turned around at the same time Steven joined us at the Chilliwack showcase. He is such a determined player who plays with passion and is always wanting the puck. His work ethic is fantastic on and off the ice. He is a student of the game who is always in the video room and asking questions. Since he joined the Clippers, his love for hockey has returned and he is an integral part of our team playing in all situations and on the first line. This was an excellent pickup for the Clippers no question.”

Wes Mussio, Owner of the Clippers noted: “I remember Stephen when he was 10 years old playing at the Brick International tournament for the Connecticut Yankees. We then crossed paths when I saw him in the New Jersey Colonial program playing against my son. When I heard he was available and interested in coming to the BCHL, we jumped on it and sure enough, he’s been an incredibly good addition to our team. He makes all the players around him better. His intensity and love for the game motivates the room. I see big things for Stephen in the future. If it isn’t playing Pro hockey after college, it’s definitely coaching for years to come as he has a great mind for the game. “
