The Nanaimo Clippers understand how tough this situation is right now for many families. When many of our fans are used to being able to go to work, go to the park, visit the hockey arena, along with many other activities.
But right now, everyone is doing their part in staying indoors to help flatten the curve and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Clippers have launched three new online interactive programs to keep our fans engaged during this time.
“Our goal with these three programs is to keep the young fans’ minds active, showcase our appreciation to the corporate community of Nanaimo, and to dig into the Clippers vault and find some special moments over the last 48 years,” said Clippers General Manager Tali Campbell.
The first program is #TeachingTuesdays:
This program is designed for the Clipper fans in Kindergarten to Grade 7 (and sometimes younger), where every Tuesday the Nanaimo Clippers will share a new activity from Clippers crossword puzzles, colouring sheets, math questions and more.
Once you complete the activity, email it to [email protected], as the Clippers will pick random winners to win tickets, merchandise and other exciting prizes.
The second program is #ThankfulThursdays:
The Nanaimo Clippers survive off the generosity of the corporate community of Nanaimo, who season after season, continue to sponsor the team. This past season was one of the best in terms of corporate involvement and the Clippers want to do their part in saying thanks.
Every Thursday, the Clippers will share something online that they’re doing to give back to local businesses. Whether it be ordering takeout, hitting up an establishment that is still open, or just showcasing a local business.
The Clippers will then challenge their fans to send a picture of them supporting a local business and select random fans to win prizes for supporting local.
And third program is Special Moment Saturdays:
The Nanaimo Clippers have a rich history dating back to 1972 with a lot of memorable moments. Every Saturday the Clippers will share a few Special Moments.
