NEPSAC Small School Semi-final: Holderness defeated Rivers 4-2 on March 2, 2019 at the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts.

The West Kelowna Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is excited to announce the commitment of forward Phil Tresca(‘02) for the 2020-21 season.

The Boston, Massachusetts native tallied 10 goals and 18 assists in 28  games played with The Rivers School (USHS Prep). “We are very excited to have Phil join the Warriors,” said Warriors Head Coach Simon Ferguson. “Phil is a highly touted prospect, he brings  a solid 200 foot game, great IQ and speed up front”. Tresca is committed to Yale University(NCAA) and was ranked 210th in the NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings.

The 5’11, 185 pound forward can’t wait to get started with the Warriors. “I chose the BCHL because of the league’s great reputation for development and I feel that it’s fast, offensive style will complement my game,” said Tresca. “Also, many of my former teammates and friends have played in the league and have all had great experiences. I chose to come to West Kelowna because over the course of the year I’ve developed good relationships with Owner John Murphy and Coach Simon Ferguson and I’m excited by the direction they’re taking the organization.”

Tresca will join his River’s School teammate Pat Lawn next season, who’s slated to make an impact on the blue line for the Warriors. “Pat is a good friend of mine and a great defenseman. We first started playing together years ago with the Boston Junior Eagles, where I also got to know Connor Joyce and Jack Cronin. Pat and I have played a lot of hockey together over the past four years at Rivers and I can’t wait to pick up right where we left off in West Kelowna.”

“I would like to thank my parents and all of my previous coaches, especially Coach Shawn McEachern from Rivers, for helping me develop as a hockey player and a person.”
