The Victoria Grizzlies continue to show that the BCHL doesn’t just develop players for the next level, they also develop executives for the next level of hockey.
The Grizzlies announced today that Auzzie Chambers has been named Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting.
Chambers has 3 years of scouting experience in the BCHL and spent last season working with the Powell River Kings. He has been working as a scout for the Grizzlies since January of this year.In 2017 Chambers was the youngest person to ever take the General Manager & Scouting Course at Sports Management Worldwide, where he just completed his hockey Analytics course.
Head coach Craig Didmon spoke today on what the new assistant executive is expected to bring to the organization.
“Auzzie is a young man that is very motivated to embark on a successful career in hockey, and we are extremely happy to have him on board. He brings a fresh approach to our Hockey Operations staff, and I look forward to him continuing to make a positive impact on our club” said Didmon
“During this irregular off-season, he has spent countless hours scouring game archives and sharing information with his network of scouts throughout Canada and the U.S to bring forward some solid prospects for our hockey club.”
The 17-year old spoke of his excitement that comes from joining the organization.
“It’s a huge honour to get to work with the Grizzlies. I look forward to working alongside GM/HC Craig Didmon to bring a Canadian Championship to Victoria”
