Pacific FC and Valour FC faced off on Saturday at Starlight Stadium which ended in a draw of 2-2. Pacific positioned first the league struggled to get things going as they played extremely conservatively. Valour, on the other hand, was fierce in the first half to draw the first blood which they did. As Pacific goaltender Callum Irving would be caught a little too far up and Valours’ Sean Rea would get loose and lob the ball over the Pacific goalie. scoring at the 36′ minute he gave Valour the lead. The half ended with Valour leading and Pacific looking for answers.
Valour found success in the second half early when Daryl Thomas Fordyce netted the second goal of the game at the 48′ minute. Pacific determined and frustrated tried everything and it wouldn’t be until they were awarded a corner. Where they crossed it is only for the ball to get knocked back to their own end. Where Gianni dos Santos was waiting and scored with a beautiful strike to bring the Pacific within one at the 56′ minute. Josh Heard who was subbed in at the half for Pacific deemed to be the difference-maker in the second half as he kept setting up opportunities for his teammates. it wasn’t till he got a beautiful through ball which he crossed to Alejandro Diaz who headed it into the corner. Erupting the crowd at the 71′ minute mark.
The game ended in a draw with yellow cards being handed out to players during a scrum at the end. Pacific will know head on a road trip out east.
