Pacific FC and Cavalry FC faced off on Sunday afternoon in the second game they’ve met in one week which ended in a draw. Following Pacific’s 5-3 thrilling penalty kick win over Cavalry in the Canadian Championship, they looked to double down with a victory.

The first half started with Cavalry pushing hard out of the gate in hopes of securing the first goal. Cavalry then broke through forcing Pacific’s goalkeeper Emil Gazdov to knock it into his own net opening the scoring 1-0 for Cavalry.

Pacific aimed to apply pressure in search of the tying goal. They came so close to in the 30th minute after numerous chances in Cavalry’s box only to be denied by Marco Carducci every time. Pacific finally found their luck in the 42nd minute, when Aymen Sellouf found the rebound and sent the ball into the box, which the ball deflected off of Josh Heard’s back and into the goal. Leveling the score and bringing Starlight Stadium to their feet. The half ended with Pacific pressuring for a second goal that did not come.

The second opened with Pacific heavily applying the pressure towards Cavalry’s end, but every opportunity they had was met with a block and clearance. Tensions rose as players from Cavalry went down with injuries that killed time and sent the Pacific fans into an uproar of boos.
The game ended with Pacific failing to score the game-winning goal and drawing the game with Cavalry. Pacific remains undefeated in the season with a record of 1(W)-1(D)-0(L) and falling in second place behind Valour FC who has the same record, but a better goal difference.
