The Victoria Grizzlies fell to the Vernon Vipers 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. In a game that lacked energy from Victoria ended in Vernon picking up their 20th win of the season.
The Grizzlies were the first strike as Ryan Nolan would score (18th) unassisted at 13:11 of the first frame, It would only take the Vipers 48 seconds to tie the game at Lane Zablocki (2) fires one into the back of the net past Zachary Rose tying the game.
The second period remained dry as neither teams were able to score. Back and forth both teams went shot after shot, trying to find some answers to why they were not able to score. The period would end as both goalies would remain perfect in the second frame. Vipers’ Bradley Cooper stopping all 13 shots faced and Zachary Rose stopping all 9 he faced.
Both teams entered the third hungry for goals but Vernon were the only ones to prevail scoring three unanswered goals. Lane Zablocki (3) went on to pick up his 2nd of the night with an assist coming from Ben Helgeson, Tyler Ho at 8:56 of the third.
The Vipers would open up the lead as Brendan Kim (6) would score from Elan Bar lev wise, and Michael Young making it 3-1 Vernon. They would then go on to score the empty netter as Logan Cash (3) scored from Michael Young. The Vipers moved on to win as Bradley Cooper stopped all 39 out of 40 shots he faced picking up his 6th win of the season.
