The Saanich Braves played their final regular season game Friday night and ended the season with a 21-17-0 record.

The first period was scoreless and at 1:54 – Gavin Grewal scored with Zach Guerra assisting on the goal. No more scoring happened until the third period when the Oceanside Generals Ryan Ignace scored 14 seconds into a power play to tie the game at 1-1.

The Braves answered right back with a power play goal of their own when Gavin Grewal scored his second goal of the evening from Dale McCabe and Zach Guerra.

The game became a little chippy toward the end when Oceanside’s Liam Lytton got a 5 minute major for Head Contact and a Non-Fighting Game Misconduct.

The Braves got the insurance goal of the game when the Generals pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and Zach Guerra scored the empty netter from Evan Abgrall at 19:37.
