The Saanich Predators lost to the Comox Valley Glacier Kings 4-0 on Friday night. It was the first game to be held at the renovated gold rink at Pearkes Arena. The renovations include a new concrete slab for the ice surface, new arena boards and glass, fresh paint, and a new score clock and safety netting. The game was opened with a speech from the owner of the Predators and the mayor of Saanich.
The Glacier Kings would jump on the board first as Tynan Klein-Beekman would score his first of the season.
Comox then scored three more goals in the second period with goals coming from Caileb Berge, Matthew Teasdale, and Daytona Houle.
The Predators failed to find the back of the net as they struggled to get anything past Ryder Lally who picked up his first shutout of the season.
