Saturday the Blues snapped their five game losing streak and win for the first time in 2020. On the other side the Chargers lose for the first time in the new year and have their five game winning streak busted.
The Blues exploded in the fourth quarter outscoring the Chargers 21-9 to take the win while shooting 46% from the field with just eight players dressed. Martin Bogajev connected on five-three pointers and finished with a game high 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds and six assists. Nathan Bromige nailed four-threes and had 22 points.
The Chargers played a gutsy road game, but didn’t have the stream to finish off the Blues dropping a comfortable lead in the final frame. They shot 47% from the field led by Shaquille Maharaj and his 24 points on the strength of four-three pointers. Matthew Gray hit the scoresheet with 14 points.
Next week the Blues (3-11) have a bye and the Chargers (8-4) will welcome the Okanagan Coyotes (5-8) with just six points separating them in the standings.
