The Nanaimo Jr A Timbermen will have a new Captain for the 2021 season.
Mason McAdams will lead the Tmen going forward as he accepts the C from graduating Captain Will Johansen.Mason was drafted by the Timbermen in 2017 from the Saanich Minor Lacrosse system.
He is a punishing defender and a crowd favourite who is sure to be a great motivator for the boys going forward. Will, also a defender from Saanich Minor, played his entire Jr career in Nanaimo and was taken as the Timbermen’s first pick in the 2021 WLA Senior Draft. Will spends his winters at Robert Morris University playing for their men’s lacrosse team.
Timbermen Coach Bruce Lesperance provides this insight. “It was an honour to be able to coach such a competitor and leader such as Will which made our final season being lost to COVID that much harder. For him to choose Mason as the next Timbermen Jr A Captain is I am sure an honour for Mason but shows the character within this organization. Mason will be a great leader no doubt for the Nanaimo Jr A Timbermen” The Timbermen organization would like to thank Will for his commitment and leadership and look forward to having Mason lead the way forward.
The Jr A Timbermen will play their first game this Saturday July 10 4:00 p.m. versus the Burnaby Lakers at the Nanaimo Ice Center, with limited in person fan attendance permitted. Go Tmen!
